Stage 1

On the first stage it was just a malayalam language mgazine. So my task was to come up with an appealing and effecient layout. While designing these were the points I kept in mind.

1. The picture should get maximum attention persuading one to look into other contents

2. It should be easiy folded and kept in one hand, thus can be used as a grocery list while shopping. So all ingredients should come neatly on one side

3. A kitchen is a cluttered space. It doesn't have enough space to put the magaznine in full spread. So when folded all the preparation instruction should come on only one side.

And I made 4 layout options.

This was the one selected.

Stage 2 : Bilingual

After some months, based on the customer feedback and market research, we found out a bilingual magazine would do much better in a city like Kochi, where there are different language speaking people.

So I sat to design a bilingual alyout. While designing these were the things I had in mind

1. The main picture should get maximum attention persuading one to look into other contents
2. It should be easiy folded and kept in one hand, thus can be used as a grocery list while shopping. So all ingredients should come neatly on one side

4. The preparation method should be visually driven, showing each stages of preparation.

5. Each step will carry english as well as malayalam layout.

6. Most of us read only one language when there are two options. So each one should be sepearated enough. avoiding confusions.

And thus I came up with these options.
